Our pick of the week picture rather appropriately for May 1st is a witchy one. It goes to 7 year old Fini from Darlington in the UK for her wonderful illustration of The Two Silly Witches (told by Emily Hanna-Grazebrook.) We like the moment you’ve captured from the story where the mother witch arrives back home carrying her new cauldron, to discover the entire village is standing on the roof of her house. All the people you’ve drawn look pretty unhappy as the floods caused by the silly sisters’ rainy spell get higher and higher. And we like the way you’ve added speech bubbles for the two silly sisters who are trying to convince their Mum that it’s not their fault!  All very funny and imaginative! You’ve captured the story really well Fini. Thanks for sharing it.
